This year, for the eighth time, we are organizing the conference Working Psychoanalytically with Couples in Warsaw. However, for the first time, the event will be held over two days, consisting of an online lecture on Friday, April 25, 2025, and an in-person conference in Warsaw on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
We invite international guests to join the online lecture on Friday, April 25, 2025. The lecture titled „Does Love Matter in the Therapy Room?”, delivered by Julie Friend, a psychoanalytic couple therapist from the USA will be fully translated into English.

The lecture will take place on April 25, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 9:40 PM CEST (6:00 PM to 7:40 PM UTC).
The Saturday part of the conference will be held in Polish. It will include a presentation by Susanna Abse: „Men in Love – Transformation or Repetition?” (the presentation itself will be in English, but the discussion will be in Polish); a talk by Karolina Pniewska: “You Make Me Feel Whole Again” – The Function of the Transformational Object in Romantic Relationships; and a clinical material presentation by Anna Rasińska.
Moreover, the Couple and Family Psychotherapy Section of the Polish Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (PTPP) organizes regular online lectures, most of which are translated into English. Julie Friend LCSW, BCD is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice including professional consultation, individuals, and couples. She is a Board member, founding member, and faculty of Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy Group, where from 2010 to 2022 she served as the Director of its three-year Intensive Study Program. She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal Couple and Family Psychoanalysis, is an Associate Member of SF-CP, and invited faculty at William Alanson White’s CCTEP program. Her publications include “Love as Creative Illusion and its Place in Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy” (2013) and “Creative Illusion in couples: thoughts about the value of transitional experience for couple relationships” (2021). She has presented her work and teaches locally and internationally and is licensed in California and New York.
